A new venture. Hardline Miniatures

I have been toying with the idea of producing a range of items that seem to be missing from inventories for some time, these are items I want on my table top! And hope others do too!

These are the first off, breastwork defences for 10/12mm scale miniatures, suitable for so many periods through history right upto WW2. There are 5 items in the range so far, two corners, one turning forwards and one back, then there is one plain straight infantry defence and two different artillery defences, one single cannon and the second can accommodate two artillery pieces.

Cast in high quality resin that captures a high level of detail.

I will get some pieces painted up at the earliest opportunity.

Currently looking at some form of website presence, so if anyone out there in blogger land has any suggestions, I'm open to ideas!
And if anyone is interested in buying some of these fine defence works please drop me a line,

UK based and happy to ship worldwide at buyers expense of course, all sales will be via Paypal.

The British are coming

I decided to add some colour to my palette, blues and browns were starting to bore. So I got stuck into my first Regt of British infantry. 37th Foot, Pendraken figures and a real joy to paint. I'm working on a 1:10 ratio so the units look like units! and it will allow for smaller regt's that would not otherwise get a look in.

And then I was persuaded to enter the Pendraken painting competition, so these are the two images I have submitted, today is the last day of entry, we wait and see now!
My first time entering anything like this, I don't expect to rank at all as the painting talent is high.

SYW Austrians

So I have been lax on painting of late, kinda lost my direction, maybe too much on the burner..

But I had a kick up the arse when a fellow club member inquired as to how my SYW was progressing and maybe we can get some games in before Christmas.....

...... GULP.............. I have a lot of Austrians to do............. and also some Hungarians and a few more Prussians, eBay is a vile enabler as I managed to pick up some reinforcements cheap.

This is what the bench looks like from left to right 8 Austrian regts and then 7 regts of Hungarians infantry plus one cavalry. I couldn't face placing the Austrian cavalry and artillery in the schedule just yet.

Got wood

My eyes were not upto painting 6mm yesterday so I thought i would satisfy one of those jobs that have been nagging me quietly for some time now and that was to get some scenery produced, so here are my efforts so far...

The buildings are 10mm scale, whilst the woodland will cover both 10mm and 6mm

more later, grass, bushes and other stuff to add yet!

Busy busy busy

So I have been busy, which is why nothing has been posted for a lil while.

First off, 28mm US infantry, this is about 50% of the way through. These are a mix of Warlord games plastic and metal, I think there may be a small acquisition of some Artizan figures in greatcoat to add some variety.

I have also finally gotten around to mounting my 6mm napoleonics ready for some paint, en mass they look impressive and so many of them, I may be here a while!

Another bunch of Austrians completed, this is the Weid unit, the green cuffs etc really add some contrast to the usual red / white combo.

And finally a curved ball, still in the midst of painting these but you get the gist. Flintloque! I had a large collection of these and then sold them, but recently the guys at the club were enthusing about it and it encouraged me to re invest, ebay is a wonderful tool sometimes. This is the 10 voltiguers from the original boxed set, The orcs are awaiting some attention in the wings.

It has become apparent I really need to start getting the bases textured, I have quite a pile awaiting some love.

Pictures!!!!!!

As promised....... the goods of my hiding away with a paint brush

Five battalions of Prussian's and one lonely Austrian, plus a few buildings to break it up a little, So a good start me thinks, lots more to do.

All figures are 10mm pendraken, full of character and easy to paint.

Tuesday, 14 August 2012

Its been a few days since posting, work and ill health take their tolls. But with that said there has been a little movement on the painting front, not a lot but a little, this comprised of completing the red jackets on my 6mm naps, no mean feat. An then to find that I had based em for painting with centre and flank companies intermingled DOH! that will teach me to be more observant....

After much faffing I started on the light battalion which I chose to paint as the 51st West Riding, you can just pick em out with the black shakos.

So they are progressing nicely!

I dug out my 6mm dirtside sci fi, these are GZG Kravak and NSL, am considering using them with stargrunt as 25mm is too large for my tastes, a well positioned squad and the table is locked, hopefully scaling down might enable a more grand tactical game....we shall see.

Now I am still scratching my head as to which scale for WW2..........

What has thrown me is the appearance of Clockwork Goblin, 15mm wierd WW2, German and U.S power armour, combined with Zombies and walkers, now I have been lucky enough to see the masters in the flesh (dont ask!) and they look so much nicer in the flesh so to speak than the 3D cads posted on their site......

I have a good collection of WW2 in 15mm, German an U.S. including scenery, its just seen much better days and has been skimmed and sold off. So needs repainting and gaps filled and other areas expanded.

15mm, huge amounts of Yanks in the lower boxes.

10mm stuff, paints up nice!
My 10mm from Pendraken is rather lovely!!!! nice scale and great for 1:1 combat level with the Panzermarsch ruleset, not to mention full of character, BUT I only have German forces at present.

Still have some stuff to dig out and drop into the painting lists .......... TBC
